What is hope?

What is hope? Something I wish for the future: Something for myself, my family, for our church, for our congregation, for friends, for the country in which I live, for my fellow human beings who ensure or have ensured that I have something to eat every day, a bed in which I sleep well, a chapel with the Savior, to whom I can go every day with all my concerns for our people, for the entire human family. Everything belongs together, everything is in “God’s” loving hands.

Now Easter is near, and we look forward to this celebration. We thank the Lord, who has led us to get to know him. I didn’t take that for granted. It only took three years for me to say “yes”: Yes, I believe! Yes, I’m coming! And now it’s been 75 years! And I haven’t regretted a single hour of it – quite the opposite. I give thanks for the time and for all the graces he has given me or has bestowed upon me; for there is a difference between giving and bestowing. And then another three years until the Church said “yes” to me too; for I am a convert by the grace of God and can only say “thank you” for every enlightenment, for all the paths “He” led me on.

Based on all my experiences, I have great hope that God knows us and that we follow “Him,” and that “He” leads us in His great mercy.

All the best and God’s blessings for your whole life
