On May 1-5, 2025, Provincial Superior Júlia Milčová, Provincial Assistant Klarisssa Baníková and Kristina Ratochka, Superior of the community in Uzhhorod, visited the CJ Sisters in Kiev.

“The purpose of the trip was to meet the sisters, to express closeness and solidarity. We were mainly carrying help (medicines and hygiene supplies) for the people whom the sisters serve either in Uzhhorod or in Kiev, so we chose to travel by car.

Anastasia works in De Paul organization (run by Vincentian Fathers) as a coordinator, she takes care of homeless and displaced people, mainly families with children from Eastern Ukraine.

Villana works as a manager at the St. Joseph’s Centre for the Development of Psychological Assistance, which provides various types of psychological services. Specifically, Villana offers art-therapy for youth and adults. Both sisters are based in Kiev.

For the Maria Ward Social Center in Uzhhorod we donated mainly medicines and supplies for children. The Lord protected us and we were able to give everything we bought – thanks to our sponsors – to the sisters and to some specific people.

The big city of Kiev lives its normal life mainly during the day, but the night is always in anticipation of sirens and bomb threats. This is what we experienced during our stay.

Thanks to the prayers of many, the Lord protected us and we were able to arrive happily and safely  in Uzhhorod and then in Slovakia.

Thank you to the many benefactors who have been steadily supporting people in need in Ukraine financially.”
