Sisters of the Congregatio Jesu and of the IBVM had the joy to be present at Saint Peter’s Square when the world heard the famous words: “Habemus Papam.”
Sisters Pratima, Annamaria, Lucy and Deepa (who arrived from Delhi just in time) went to greet the newly elected Pope Leo XIV together to celebrate, pray and to receive the first benediction of the new Pope.
Sisters of the IBVM also were present when the white smoke and the ringing of the bells announced the election of a new Pontifex Maximus. Thus, the Mary Ward Family has been represented amidst the many faithful gathered to pray for Pope Leo XIV.
