Welcome to Congregatio Jesu
We are the Congregatio Jesu, a congregation of women religious sisters founded by an Englishwoman, Mary Ward, in 1609. Today, inspired by her vision, we live and work worldwide as companions of Jesus in mission.

The 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women has kicked off today in New York. Some of our sisters are participating in presence with our ibvmunngo, others are part of the virtual delegation. All are committed to work for gender-equity and a just world for all, ...especially women and girls.

Was it difficult for Mary Ward to make her own will completely free for God's will and to want only what He wants? How can we succeed in this task? Who are the people at our side with whom we nurture this longing together?
We wish you a blessed Sunday!
Mary Ward said: "Women in time to come will do much." Sr Sneha CJ from India tells us about how she and a fellow sisters proved Mary Ward to be right. Women can and do change the world for the better. Learn more about our commitmend to freedom, justice, sincerity and felicity on our ...website: www.congregatiojesu.org
"There is no such difference between men and women that women may not do great things", Mary Ward told her companions in the early 17th century. What she said then, is still true. Happy women's day to all - keep celebrating the strength, resilience and brilliance of women and their ...commitment all around the world!
If you want to read more about what Mary Ward said on women, you can read her famous speech on our website: https://www.congregatiojesu.org/who-we-are/charism-and-spirituality/women-in-time-to-come-will-do-much/
"I always love the light" is a quote attributed to Mary Ward. Her life is living proof that this was not only something she said - she lived her life in the open, in the light of God's presence and with the freedom to refer everything to HIM.
Lola Spulak, a student from Mary Ward... school in Bamberg composed a song on these famous words. Sr. Ursula Dirmeier CJ provides us with a reflection on this sentence. We put both together in a short video.
You are invited to learn the song and to use it in your prayers and celebrations. The sheet music will be published on our website.
